Meet the Trainer
Built by a player, for players
I'm Ryan Woodland — a competitive academy centre back from Chilliwack, BC, and the founder of Premier Soccer Training. I started this program because I know first-hand what extra development does for a young player. Team practice gives you the basics. Private and small-group training is where players actually level up.

Soccer background
I currently play centre back at the academy level (graduating class of 2027), competing year-round against some of the top youth players in the province. Years of high-level training, league games, showcases, and position-specific coaching have shaped how I see the game — and how I teach it.
Why I train youth players
I started Premier Soccer Training because I remember being the kid who wanted more — more touches, more reps, more honest feedback. A lot of young players in Chilliwack and across the Fraser Valley don't have easy access to that. My goal is simple: give every player I work with the kind of focused, high-intensity sessions that actually move the needle, while keeping the love of the game front and centre.
How I coach
Every session is structured: warm-up, technical work, position-specific reps, then competitive game-realistic situations. Players leave knowing exactly what they did well and exactly what to work on next. Confidence is built through reps, not lectures.
University placement knowledge
I've spent years researching the university soccer pathway in both Canada (U SPORTS, CCAA) and the United States (NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and NJCAA). I understand what coaches are looking for in highlight tapes, ID camps, recruiting profiles, eligibility (NCAA Eligibility Center, academic requirements, amateurism), and how to time outreach. For families thinking long-term, I'm happy to share what I've learned and help players build habits and a profile that opens doors at the next level — north or south of the border.
